A loaded Ascent towing a trailer or carrying a family on a washed-out access road puts a lot of weight on an open rear differential that will happily spin one tire. The Torq-Master R160 Rear Locker for the 2019-2026 Ascent uses the VA2-type carrier and replaces the spider gears with a CNC machined 9310 steel automatic locker, no air or electrical systems involved. It engages when torque is applied and unlocks on the overrun, so day-to-day driving stays close to stock. Torq-Masters has not tested 2018 and newer traction control and does not guarantee it, which applies to every Ascent. The rear differential has to come out for the install, a job we quote at the Calgary shop. Canada-wide delivery from Flat 4 Offroad in Calgary.
