A factory Subaru Forester bumper is built for impact absorption, not for carrying a winch, which matters on a Canadian winter recovery. Rigid Armor's Armory Winch Bumper swaps it for a three-piece steel assembly with a main housing that takes up to a 9000 lb winch, a bolt-on 1/8 inch steel skid plate, and 1/8 to 1 1/2 inch steel tubing side guards that bolt to the housing. It mounts at the factory bumper locations, and Rigid Armor puts the install at about two hours with no cutting or fabrication.
