From the original BG wagon through the current Wilderness-trim BT-chassis, the Subaru Outback's factory plastic undertray offers little protection once the pavement ends. The Primitive Racing Front Skid Plate replaces it with a 5052 aluminum shield in 1/8" or 3/16" thickness, sized correctly for 4-cylinder, H6 six-cylinder, and turbo XT Outback drivetrains. The plate deflects rocks and trail debris away from the oil pan and engine cradle, includes an up-turned rear lip to prevent snagging while reversing, and bolts directly to factory mounting points with no drilling required.
