The Subaru Ascent's factory plastic undertray isn't built for anything rougher than a gravel driveway. The Primitive Racing Front Skid Plate replaces it with a rigid 5052 aluminum shield engineered to protect the Ascent's oil pan and engine cradle from rocks, stumps, and washboard trail surfaces on overland trips and campground roads. An up-turned rear lip keeps the plate from catching on obstacles during reversing, and it bolts on using the existing factory mounting points with no drilling required.
