A 2015-2019 Subaru Outback's factory roof rails aren't rated to carry a rooftop tent, and the ADF Roof Crossbar System replaces them with something that is. Built from 1/8" and 1/4" steel rather than stamped aluminum, these crossbars bolt directly to the factory mounting points and are significantly stronger than the stock setup, though the usable dynamic load is still capped by those factory tie-down points. The added strength makes it a practical base for mounting a rooftop tent, a large cargo box, or other heavy gear that the factory rails were never designed to hold.
